- To ensure compliance with the Florida Assisted Living regulations. Residents have the right to have visitors in their living unit, within the lease, policies or other agreement.
- Residents may have visitors of their choosing. Magnolia does not restrict the number of visitors. However, for the safety of all residents and facility, guidelines of the visitor policy must be followed.
- If a guest/visitor comes between the visiting hours of 9am – 9pm, administration notification is not required. All guests/visitors are required to sign in when they arrive and sign out when they leave. A thermometer and complimentary masks are available at the sign in table for any visitors who may wish to use it. A bathroom is nearby should visitors need to wash their hands before and/or after their visits. Visitors may visit family members in their rooms, common areas, outside patios, etc.
- If a guest/visitor comes after hours (after 9:00pm), administration notification is required for safety reasons, as the building will be locked after hours. All guests/visitors are required to sign in when they arrive and sign out when they leave.
- Magnolia is a drug-free facility. All guests/visitors are subject to the rules and policies of Magnolia. Any guest/visitor who violates our policies and procedures will forfeit visitation privileges.
- Resident is responsible for their guest (s). The action and conduct of all visitors/guests are the responsibility of the resident. Please supervise and accompany your guests within the residence at all times. Also, be respectful that this is also your housemate’s home and people have different schedules.
- Upon request, the facility shall make provision for the following:
1) A resident, client, or patient may designate a visitor who is a family member, friend, guardian, or other individual as an essential caregiver for at least 2 hours daily in addition to any other visitation authorized by the provider. This section does not require an essential caregiver to provide necessary care to a resident, client, or patient of a provider, and providers may not require an essential caregiver to provide such care.
2) The visitation policies and procedures required by this section must allow in-person visitation in all of the following circumstances, unless the resident, client, or patient objects:
- a.) End of Life situations.
- b.) A resident, client, or patient who was living with family before being admitted to the provider’s care is struggling with the change in environment and lack of in-person family support.
- c.) The resident, client, or patient is making one or more major medical decisions.
- d.) A resident, client or patient is experiencing emotional distress or grieving the loss of a friend or family member who recently died.
- e.) The resident, client, or patient needs cueing or encouragement to eat or drink which was previously provided by a family member or caregiver.
- f.) The resident, client, or patient who used to talk and interact with others is seldom speaking.
- g.) For hospitals, childbirth, including labor and delivery.
